Be YOU!

I was just reading this lovely blog post written by Holley Gerth and I think it is perfect for this month's theme of self worth. You can read the whole post here... When It's Hard to Be You. There are a few quotes I want to note from her post.

"Yes, sometimes it’s hard to be you. But it’s always harder to try to be someone else."

Have you ever tried to be someone else? I know I sure have had my moments when I wanted to portray myself as somebody different from who I really am. Often it was to impress new friends or mask insecurities. But the truth is, no one can change their innate personality, eventually it seeps through the cracks. But you know what, I think that is a good thing. Because...

"You’re made in the image of God and your purpose is to mirror a part of who he is in a way only you can. When you try to be like someone else, you end up reflecting them instead of God."
...God made us to mirror a part of who he is. No two of us are the exactly the same. How crazy is that! Out of all of the billions and trillions times infinity of humans that God made, he NEVER made two exactly the same. Are you starting to see the bigger picture? The truth is that YOU are made to be EXACTLY who you are because ONLY YOU can mirror God the way that you do.

"So whoever you are, be you today."
"Because Someone Who Loves You made you that way."
Be encouraged friends, YOU HAVE WORTH.
YOU were made for a purpose.

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow. Check out Madison's post on how to comment on blogs to find out more.  4. Plan a blogger Meetup : If you there
